Community Activities

June 16-20th

The goal of Safety Town is to educate pre-schoolers ( ages 5-6 ) about safety issues such as fire, poisons, water, busses, trains, strangers, bicycle crossing, streets and traffic lights, safety belts. guns and much more.  Pewaukee High School volunteers assist with all of the activities.  Children will learn through games, crafts, guest speakers and hands on lessons, outside with miniature roads and buildings, making this program unique.  The one week program culminates with a graduation ceremony on Friday.

For more information, contact the City of Pewaukee Park/Recreation Department at City Hall on Pewaukee Road, 262-691-7275.

Registration closes May 23.  You must register in person at Pewaukee City Hall.  They are open between 9am and 4pm.

Classes will be held at the Queen of Apostles School, 449 W. Wisconsin Ave in Pewaukee.

The Pewaukee Fire Department, thru its Prevention Bureau supplies the community with educational programs throughout the year. They provide employee fire extinguisher training classes to area businesses as well as perform home and business fire safety inspections.  We also conduct School Bus safety drills.  Building evacuation plans can be reviewed for both homes and businesses.

The Bureau is available to any Community group for the presentation of  fire safety programs.  Contact Division Chief Peter Rohde at  262-523-4616 for more information.
